Security and Safety

• Medical exam, Driver’s validity license check, Driving record check (abstract), Drug test, Criminal record check and Basic security clearance

Documentation Knowledge

• Trans-border documentation, Driver logbook, Bill of lading, Trip reports, Maintenance and repair reports, Accident or incident reports and Inspection reports (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip)

Specific Skills

• Operate and drive tractor trailer to transport goods and materials as a Long Haul Truck Driver
• Operate and drive trucks to transport goods and materials to destinations in a safe and efficient way according to the all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures
• Oversee all aspects of vehicles, such as condition of equipment, loading and unloading, perform daily safety and security of cargo and maintenance checks
• Perform pre-trip inspection of vehicle systems and equipment such as tires, lights and breaks, etc.
• Ensure truck and equipment is safely stored
• Plan your trip according to the weather conditions
• Clean trucks as scheduled or as required
• Follow safety procedures for transporting hazardous goods
• Manage Bill of Ladings and other expense receipts pertaining to the trip
• Maintain Log Books according to rules and regulations
• Record cargo information, distance travelled, fuel consumption
• Communicate with dispatcher at least twice in a day for updates
